Here, the upper estimate of GBP 3,500.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for GBP 3,750.00 (€ 4,223.15). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Stephen Slaughter achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Portrait of two gentlemen, small-full-length, seated at a table, raising a toast, in a garden; and Portrait of two gentlemen, small-full-length, beside a lectern with one pointing to an open book, with a page inscribed 'Tacitus' in May 2001 with an auction result of GBP 41,125.00 (€ 68,947.00).
