In May 2010 Christies in London held the auction Maritime Art, which included the work The America's Cup, 1893: Vigilant versus Valkyrie (II), the windward leg by Stephen J. Renard. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 2,500.00 (€ 2,929.10), 67% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Stephen J. Renard achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Yankee, Ranger and Endeavour II racing in the New York Yacht Club Criuse, 1937 in July 2004 with an auction result of USD 77,675.00 (€ 64,557.01).

Im Mai 2010 führte Christies in London die Auktion Maritime Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit The America's Cup, 1893: Vigilant versus Valkyrie (II), the windward leg von Stephen J. Renard zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 2.500,00 (€ 2.929,10) und damit 67% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Stephen J. Renard erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Yankee, Ranger and Endeavour II racing in the New York Yacht Club Criuse, 1937 im Juli 2004 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 77.675,00 (€ 64.557,01).
