The work Britannia and Navahoe at the start of the Brenton Reef Cup, off Newport, Rhode Island, 1893 by Stephen J. Renard was auctioned at Christies in London in November 2010. The price achieved of GBP 1,250.00 (€ 1,493.75) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 1,000.00 – 1,500.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Stephen J. Renard achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Yankee, Ranger and Endeavour II racing in the New York Yacht Club Criuse, 1937 in July 2004 with an auction result of USD 77,675.00 (€ 64,557.01).
