Sold at the lower estimate price
In July 2008 Christies in New York held the auction Christie's Interiors, which included the work Untitled "J" by Stephen Edlich. The result of USD 4,000.00 (€ 2,565.91) was exactly at the lower end of the estimate range of USD 4,000.00 – 6,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Stephen Edlich - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work 84 Transports Jean Chatel, which sold at auction in July 2007 for USD 13,200.00 (€ 9,627.31).
Zuschlag beim unteren Schätzpreis
Im Juli 2008 führte Christies in New York die Auktion Christie's Interiors durch, in der auch die Arbeit Untitled "J" von Stephen Edlich zur Versteigerung kam. Das dabei erzielte Ergebnis von USD 4.000,00 (€ 2.565,91) entsprach exakt dem unteren Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 4.000,00 – 6.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Stephen Edlich mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit 84 Transports Jean Chatel beobachtet, die im Juli 2007 für USD 13.200,00 (€ 9.627,31) versteigert wurde.
