Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Atchison by Stephen Buckley was sold in the The Robert Devereux Collection of Post-War British Art in aid of the African Arts Trust, Sale 3 auction at Sothebys in London in November 2010. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 800.00 – 1,200.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 813.00 (€ 971.53) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Stephen Buckley have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Wallace in March 2012 with an auction result of GBP 5,000.00 (€ 5,994.08).
