Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Two Figures by Stella Steyn was auctioned at Christies in London in May 2006, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of GBP 500.00 – 700.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for GBP 480.00 (€ 700.64). However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Stella Steyn - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Nude Figures In Motion, which sold at auction in May 2006 for GBP 1,320.00 (€ 1,926.77).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Two Figures von Stella Steyn im Mai 2006 bei Christies in London versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 500,00 – 700,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für GBP 480,00 (€ 700,64) den Besitzer. Für andere Arbeiten von Stella Steyn mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Nude Figures In Motion beobachtet, die im Mai 2006 für GBP 1.320,00 (€ 1.926,77) versteigert wurde.
