In May 2018 Christies in New York held the auction The Collection of Peggy and David Rockefeller: Art of the Americas, Evening Sale, which included the work Midtown Range by Stefan Hirsch. The »bidding war« ended at USD 187,500.00 (€ 160,668.38), 25% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Stefan Hirsch - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Excavation, which sold at auction in May 2019 for USD 399,000.00 (€ 357,879.63).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 25 % übertroffen
Im Mai 2018 führte Christies in New York die Auktion The Collection of Peggy and David Rockefeller: Art of the Americas, Evening Sale durch, in der auch die Arbeit Midtown Range von Stefan Hirsch zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 187.500,00 (€ 160.668,38) und damit 25% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Für andere Arbeiten von Stefan Hirsch mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Excavation beobachtet, die im Mai 2019 für USD 399.000,00 (€ 357.879,63) versteigert wurde.
