Auction result misses estimated price range
In November 2001 a collector was able to acquire the work A Hazy September Morning; and Stormy Weather in the Cotswolds (illustrated) by Stanley Anderson for GBP 1,997.50 (€ 3,178.65). This price was achieved in the auction British Art on Paper at Christies in London and was even below the estimate range of GBP 2,000.00 – 3,000.00 set by the auction house. Other works by Stanley Anderson have also sold for higher prices; the highest price we have seen at auction so far was achieved in November 2001 by the work Evening Glow; and Summers Lease (illustrated) at GBP 2,232.50 (€ 3,552.61).
