In January 2012 Sothebys in New York held the auction Old Master & 19th Century European Art, Including Property from The Forbes Collection: The Panorama of Champigny, which included the work The Circassian Guards by Stanislaus von Chlebowski. The »bidding war« ended at USD 22,500.00 (€ 17,237.42), 25% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Stanislaus von Chlebowski have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Polish at Prayer, Hagia Sophia in April 2016 with an auction result of GBP 125,000.00 (€ 159,787.17).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 25 % übertroffen
Im Januar 2012 führte Sothebys in New York die Auktion Old Master & 19th Century European Art, Including Property from The Forbes Collection: The Panorama of Champigny durch, in der auch die Arbeit The Circassian Guards von Stanislaus von Chlebowski zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 22.500,00 (€ 17.237,42) und damit 25% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Stanislaus von Chlebowski auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Polish at Prayer, Hagia Sophia im April 2016 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 125.000,00 (€ 159.787,17).
