Auction result well in line with expectations
In November 2011 Sothebys in London held the auction European Paintings, which included the work Greek little Church Aegina by Spyros Papaloukas. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 20,000.00 – 30,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 21,250.00 (€ 24,807.20) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Spyros Papaloukas have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Greek boatyard At Pantokrator Monastery, Mount Athos in November 2017 with an auction result of GBP 141,250.00 (€ 160,339.76).
