Artwork auctioned at seven times the upper estimate price
The work Persimmon Tree by Sophie Chang was worth HKD 1,875,000.00 (€ 214,309.73) to a buyer in October 2019. This price was achieved in the auction Modern Art at Sothebys in Hong Kong and exceeded the previously set upper estimate of HKD 250,000.00 many times over. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Sophie Chang; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot A. Blessing; B. Untitled sold at auction in October 2019 with the realized price of HKD 3,750,000.00 (€ 428,619.45).

Die Arbeit Persimmon Tree von Sophie Chang war einem Käufer im Oktober 2019 HKD 1.875.000,00 (€ 214.309,73) wert. Dieser Preise wurde in der Auktion Modern Art bei Sothebys in Hong Kong erzielt und übertraf den zuvor angesetzten oberen Schätzpreis von HKD 250.000,00 um ein Vielfaches. Trotz des guten Ergebnisses ist dies nicht der höchste Zuschlag für ein Kunstwerk von Sophie Chang; den erzielte unter den von uns beobachteten Auktionen die Arbeit A. Blessing; B.
