Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work without title by Somboon Homtientong was auctioned at Sothebys in Hong Kong in April 2018, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of HKD 30,000 – 50,000, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for HKD 27,500 (€ 2,902). Other works by Somboon Homtientong have also sold for higher prices; the highest price we have seen at auction so far was achieved in October 2015 by the work at HKD 43,750 (€ 5,111).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als diese Arbeit ohne Titel von Somboon Homtientong im April 2018 bei Sothebys in Hong Kong versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von HKD 30.000 – 50.000 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für HKD 27.500 (€ 2.902) den Besitzer. Andere Arbeiten von Somboon Homtientong wurden auch schon teurer gehandelt; den höchsten Preis, den wir bisher bei Auktionen beobachten konnten, erzielte im Oktober 2015 die Arbeit mit HKD 43.750 (€ 5.111).
