Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by Sol LeWitt achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in Paris in June 2015. In the Art Contemporain auction, the work Incomplete Open Cube Drawing sold for EUR 16,250.00 - well above the upper estimate of EUR 8,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Sol LeWitt achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Wavy Brushstrokes in July 2015 with an auction result of GBP 449,000.00 (€ 636,531.19).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Sol LeWitt erzielte im Juni 2015 bei Sothebys in Paris einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Art Contemporain wurde die Arbeit Incomplete Open Cube Drawing für EUR 16.250,00 versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von EUR 8.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Sol LeWitt erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Wavy Brushstrokes im Juli 2015 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 449.000,00 (€ 636.531,19).
