Auction result well in line with expectations
This work without title by Sokari Douglas Camp was sold in the Modern & Contemporary African Art auction at Bonhams in New York in September 2020. The price achieved of USD 5,075.00 (€ 4,330.94) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 4,000.00 – 6,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Sokari Douglas Camp - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Naked Fish, which sold at auction in March 2019 for GBP 13,812.00 (€ 16,031.17).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Diese Arbeit ohne Titel von Sokari Douglas Camp wurde im September 2020 in der Auktion Modern & Contemporary African Art bei Bonhams in New York versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 5.075,00 (€ 4.330,94) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 4.000,00 – 6.000,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von Sokari Douglas Camp mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Naked Fish beobachtet, die im März 2019 für GBP 13.812,00 (€ 16.031,17) versteigert wurde.
