Auction result well in line with expectations
In September 2020 Bonhams in New York held the auction Modern & Contemporary African Art, which included the work Family, 1990 by Sokari Douglas Camp. The price achieved of USD 4,450.00 (€ 3,797.58) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 3,000.00 – 5,000.00. Admittedly, works by Sokari Douglas Camp have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Naked Fish in March 2019 with an auction result of GBP 13,812.00 (€ 16,031.17).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im September 2020 führte Bonhams in New York die Auktion Modern & Contemporary African Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Family, 1990 von Sokari Douglas Camp zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 4.450,00 (€ 3.797,58) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 3.000,00 – 5.000,00 angegeben worden. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Sokari Douglas Camp auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Naked Fish im März 2019 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 13.812,00 (€ 16.031,17).
