Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Lovers Whispering by Sokari Douglas Camp was sold in the Modern and Contemporary African Art auction at Sothebys in London in May 2017. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 8,000.00 – 12,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 8,125.00 (€ 9,331.89) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Other works by Sokari Douglas Camp have already achieved higher auction prices, for example, in March 2019 the work Naked Fish was auctioned for GBP 13,812.00 (€ 16,031.17).
