This artwork by Slim Aarons achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in New York in April 2010. In the Christie's Interiors auction, the work The Four Kings of Hollywood (Clark Gable, Van Heflin, Gary Cooper and Jimmy Stewart), 1957 sold for USD 4,375.00 (€ 3,288.98) - well above the upper estimate of USD 1,500.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Slim Aarons achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Poolside Gossip, 1970 in April last year with an auction result of USD 40,320.00 (€ 38,265.16).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Slim Aarons erzielte im April 2010 bei Christies in New York einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Christie's Interiors wurde die Arbeit The Four Kings of Hollywood (Clark Gable, Van Heflin, Gary Cooper and Jimmy Stewart), 1957 für USD 4.375,00 (€ 3.288,98) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 1.500,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Slim Aarons erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Poolside Gossip, 1970 im April letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 40.320,00 (€ 38.265,16).
