Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Westminster X by William Coldstream was auctioned at Sothebys in London in July 2008. It changed hands for a price of GBP 34,850.00 (€ 44,277.32) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of GBP 25,000.00 – 35,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by William Coldstream - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Seated Nude, which sold at auction in November 2012 for GBP 73,250.00 (€ 90,236.57).

Die Arbeit Westminster X von William Coldstream kam im Juli 2008 bei Sothebys in London zur Auktion. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von GBP 34.850,00 (€ 44.277,32) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 25.000,00 – 35.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von William Coldstream mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Seated Nude beobachtet, die im November 2012 für GBP 73.250,00 (€ 90.236,57) versteigert wurde.
