Auction result well in line with expectations
In October 2005 Christies in London held the auction The Scottish Sale at The Assembly Rooms, Edinburgh, which included the work The Holly Gatherer by Joseph Noel Paton. The price achieved of GBP 6,600.00 (€ 9,733.01) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 5,000.00 – 8,000.00. Admittedly, works by Joseph Noel Paton have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Mors Janua Vitae (Death the Gateway to Life) So wounded and weary from the conflict, he rose and followed the beckoning Shadow.
