Upper estimate price exceeded by 67 %.
In January 2008 Christies in London held the auction Christie's Interiors, which included the work Portrait Study of Admiral Sir Edward Codrington, Half-Length by George Hayter. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 2,500.00 (€ 3,351.36), 67% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by George Hayter achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Portrait of Charlotte, Countess de la Bourdonnaye (1795-1875), Full-Length, In A Green Dress, Seated On A Day Bed On A Terrace, A Dog On Her Lap, Before A Draped Curtain, With An Extensive Landscape Beyond in June 2005 with an auction result of GBP 46,800.00 (€ 69,360.56).
Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Portrait of Charlotte, Countess de la Bourdonnaye (1795-1875), Full-Length, In A Green Dress, Seated On A Day Bed On A Terrace, A Dog On Her Lap, Before A Draped Curtain, With An Extensive Landscape Beyond im Juni 2005 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 46.800,00 (€ 69.360,56).
