Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Haymakers by the stream by George Clausen was auctioned at Christies in London in July last year. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 30,000.00 – 50,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 32,760.00 (€ 39,121.26) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by George Clausen achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Gleaners in November 2004 with an auction result of GBP 710,850.00 (€ 1,022,553.89).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Haymakers by the stream von George Clausen kam im Juli letzten Jahres bei Christies in London zur Auktion. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 30.000,00 – 50.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 32.760,00 (€ 39.121,26) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von George Clausen erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Gleaners im November 2004 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 710.850,00 (€ 1.022.553,89).
