Sold at the upper estimate price
In September 2008 Christies in London held the auction Exploration and Travel, which included the work A studio portrait photograph of Ernest Shackleton, c.1910 by Ernest Henry Shackleton. The auction ended at the price of GBP 2,500.00 (€ 3,161.00), which exactly corresponded to the upper end of the estimated price range of GBP 1,500.00 – 2,500.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Ernest Henry Shackleton achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Sir Ernest Shackleton'S Miniatures, As Worn in November 2020 with an auction result of GBP 75,000.00 (€ 83,725.31).
