Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In March this year Bonhams held the auction 19th Century and British Impressionist Art, which included the work The Answering String by Edward Burne-Jones. Here, the upper estimate of GBP 30,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for GBP 33,060.00 (€ 37,612.14). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Edward Burne-Jones achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Love among the Ruins in July 2013 with an auction result of GBP 14,845,875.00 (€ 16,963,999.76).
