Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Peggy and Jenny from the Gentle Shepherd by Daniel MacNee was auctioned at Christies in London in May 2005. The price achieved of GBP 6,000.00 (€ 8,857.88) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 5,000.00 – 8,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Daniel MacNee - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Portrait of William Aird, member of the Lanarkshire and Renfrewshire Foxhounds, full-length, in hunting dress, standing by a green draped table, his right hand resting on a newspaper, which sold at auction in July 2011 for GBP 17,500.00 (€ 20,083.87).
