Auction result well in line with expectations
In December 2006 Sothebys in Olympia held the auction Old Master Paintings, which included the work Rome, A View Of The Colosseum by Simone Pomardi. The price achieved of GBP 2,400.00 (€ 3,561.90) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 2,000.00 – 3,000.00. Admittedly, works by Simone Pomardi have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work A View Of Rome From Tor Di Nona And The Tiber Looking Towards Castel Sant'Angelo And Ponte Degli Angeli And The Basilica Of St Peter in January 2009 with an auction result of USD 31,250.00 (€ 24,406.44).
