The »bidding war« ended at USD 20,000.00 (€ 17,461.15), 67% above the upper estimate. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Simone Pomardi; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot A View Of Rome From Tor Di Nona And The Tiber Looking Towards Castel Sant'Angelo And Ponte Degli Angeli And The Basilica Of St Peter sold at auction in January 2009 with the realized price of USD 31,250.00 (€ 24,406.44).
