A top price for Simon McWilliams - as previously expected
In October 2007 Sothebys in London held the auction Modern and Contemporary Irish Art, which included the work The Palmhouse by Simon McWilliams. The price achieved of GBP 8,125.00 (€ 11,668.03) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 7,000.00 – 10,000.00. Even if this result could not surprise positively, The Palmhouse is the most expensive artwork by Simon McWilliams that we have observed at auctions so far.
Ein Spitzenpreis mit Ansage
Im Oktober 2007 führte Sothebys in London die Auktion Modern and Contemporary Irish Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit The Palmhouse von Simon McWilliams zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 8.125,00 (€ 11.668,03) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 7.000,00 – 10.000,00 angegeben worden. Auch wenn das Ergebnis damit nicht positiv überraschen konnte, ist The Palmhouse das teuerste Kunstwerk von Simon McWilliams, das wir bisher bei Auktionen beobachtet haben.
