Sold at the lower estimate price
In October 2007 Sothebys in London held the auction Modern and Contemporary Irish Art, which included the work Azalea by Simon McWilliams. The result of GBP 4,000.00 (€ 5,744.26) was exactly at the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 4,000.00 – 6,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Simon McWilliams - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work The Palmhouse, which sold at auction in October 2007 for GBP 8,125.00 (€ 11,668.03).
Zuschlag beim unteren Schätzpreis
Im Oktober 2007 führte Sothebys in London die Auktion Modern and Contemporary Irish Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Azalea von Simon McWilliams zur Versteigerung kam. Das dabei erzielte Ergebnis von GBP 4.000,00 (€ 5.744,26) entsprach exakt dem unteren Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 4.000,00 – 6.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Simon McWilliams mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit The Palmhouse beobachtet, die im Oktober 2007 für GBP 8.125,00 (€ 11.668,03) versteigert wurde.
