Auction result misses estimated price range
In January 2007 a collector was able to acquire the work Rural Houses At Sunset On The Outskirts Of Rome by Simon Denis for USD 10,800.00 (€ 8,308.97). This price was achieved in the auction Important Old Master Paintings and European Works of Art at Sothebys in New York and was even below the estimate range of USD 15,000.00 – 20,000.00 set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Simon Denis achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work View Of Monticelli, Near Tivoli in February 2013 with an auction result of USD 242,500.00 (€ 185,411.73).
