Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
The work Portrait of a gentleman, quarter-length, in a brown coat and white cravat, in a feigned cartouche by Simon Dubois was sold in the British and Victorian Paintings auction at Christies in London in September 2005. Here, the upper estimate of GBP 1,200.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for GBP 1,260.00 (€ 1,849.14). However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Simon Dubois - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Etudes De Têtes D'Hommes D'Après Les Maîtres Anciens, which sold at auction in October 2013 for EUR 4,000.00.
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Die Arbeit Portrait of a gentleman, quarter-length, in a brown coat and white cravat, in a feigned cartouche von Simon Dubois wurde im September 2005 in der Auktion British and Victorian Paintings bei Christies in London versteigert. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von GBP 1.200,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für GBP 1.260,00 (€ 1.849,14) einen neuen Besitzer. Für andere Arbeiten von Simon Dubois mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Etudes De Têtes D'Hommes D'Après Les Maîtres Anciens beobachtet, die im Oktober 2013 für EUR 4.000,00 versteigert wurde.
