The »bidding war« ended at GBP 1,088.00 (€ 1,269.37), 36% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Simeon Stafford have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Playing Catch With Ruby, St. Michael'S Mount in November 2007 with an auction result of GBP 4,250.00 (€ 5,951.10).

Die Arbeit The Fishing Fleet von Simeon Stafford wurde im Juli diesen Jahres in der Auktion Modern British and Irish Art bei Bonhams in Los Angeles versteigert. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 1.088,00 (€ 1.269,37) und damit 36% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Simeon Stafford auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Playing Catch With Ruby, St. Michael'S Mount im November 2007 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 4.250,00 (€ 5.951,10).
