In June 2006 Christies in Rome held the auction 19th Century Pictures, which included the work Contadina Presso Firenze (1886 Circa) by Silvestro Lega. The »bidding war« ended at EUR 167,400.00 40% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Silvestro Lega - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Il sonno dell'Innocenza (1882 circa), which sold at auction in June 2004 for EUR 337,850.00.
Oberer Schätzpreis um 40 % übertroffen
Im Juni 2006 führte Christies in Rom die Auktion 19th Century Pictures durch, in der auch die Arbeit Contadina Presso Firenze (1886 Circa) von Silvestro Lega zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von EUR 167.400,00 und damit 40% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Für andere Arbeiten von Silvestro Lega mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Il sonno dell'Innocenza (1882 circa) beobachtet, die im Juni 2004 für EUR 337.850,00 versteigert wurde.
