In May 2012 Christies in London held the auction 19th Century European Art Including Orientalist Art, which included the work Footprints in the snow by Sigvard Marius Hansen. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 3,250.00 (€ 4,049.36), 63% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Sigvard Marius Hansen - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work A Winter Morning, which sold at auction in November 2004 for GBP 6,572.50 (€ 9,454.51).

Im Mai 2012 führte Christies in London die Auktion 19th Century European Art Including Orientalist Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Footprints in the snow von Sigvard Marius Hansen zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 3.250,00 (€ 4.049,36) und damit 63% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Für andere Arbeiten von Sigvard Marius Hansen mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit A Winter Morning beobachtet, die im November 2004 für GBP 6.572,50 (€ 9.454,51) versteigert wurde.
