This artwork by Shobha Broota achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in New York in March 2021. In the Modern & Contemporary South Asian Art auction, the work Untitled 6 sold for USD 8,820.00 (€ 7,510.86) - well above the upper estimate of USD 5,000.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Shobha Broota; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot without title sold at auction in March last year with the realized price of USD 12,600.00 (€ 11,358.51).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 76 % übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Shobha Broota erzielte im März 2021 bei Sothebys in New York einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Modern & Contemporary South Asian Art wurde die Arbeit Untitled 6 für USD 8.820,00 (€ 7.510,86) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 5.000,00. Trotz des guten Ergebnisses ist dies nicht der höchste Zuschlag für ein Kunstwerk von Shobha Broota; den erzielte unter den von uns beobachteten Auktionen die Arbeit ohne Titel im März letzten Jahres mit dem Hammerpreis von USD 12.600,00 (€ 11.358,51).
