A top price for Shirin Neshat - as previously expected
The work Passage by Shirin Neshat was sold in the Contemporary Art / Doha auction at Sothebys in Doha in October 2014. The price achieved of USD 269,000.00 (€ 214,684.76) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 200,000.00 – 300,000.00. Even if this result could not surprise positively, Passage is the most expensive artwork by Shirin Neshat that we have observed at auctions so far.

Die Arbeit Passage von Shirin Neshat wurde im Oktober 2014 in der Auktion Contemporary Art / Doha bei Sothebys in Doha versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 269.000,00 (€ 214.684,76) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 200.000,00 – 300.000,00 angegeben worden. Auch wenn das Ergebnis damit nicht positiv überraschen konnte, ist Passage das teuerste Kunstwerk von Shirin Neshat, das wir bisher bei Auktionen beobachtet haben.
