Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Landscape in snow by Shiokawa Bunrin was auctioned at Christies in New York in March 2013, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 1,500.00 – 2,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 1,062.50 (€ 829.04). Other works by Shiokawa Bunrin have also sold for higher prices; the highest price we have seen at auction so far was achieved in May 2013 by the work Hanging scroll, ink on silk, of a boat in rain, signed Bunrin, sealed Bunrin and Shion, Maruyama-Shijo School at GBP 750.00 (€ 876.87).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Landscape in snow von Shiokawa Bunrin im März 2013 bei Christies in New York versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 1.500,00 – 2.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für USD 1.062,50 (€ 829,04) den Besitzer. Andere Arbeiten von Shiokawa Bunrin wurden auch schon teurer gehandelt; den höchsten Preis, den wir bisher bei Auktionen beobachten konnten, erzielte im Mai 2013 die Arbeit Hanging scroll, ink on silk, of a boat in rain, signed Bunrin, sealed Bunrin and Shion, Maruyama-Shijo School mit GBP 750,00 (€ 876,87).
