In May 2008 Christies in Hong Kong held the auction Asian Contemporary Art (Day Sale), which included the work Mr. Owl & Duck Boat by Shin Young Mi. The auction ended at the price of HKD 100,000.00 (€ 8,232.65), which exactly corresponded to the upper end of the estimated price range of HKD 70,000.00 – 100,000.00. Admittedly, works by Shin Young Mi have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work In the Mirror in November 2007 with an auction result of HKD 427,500.00 (€ 37,371.32).
Zuschlag beim oberen Schätzpreis
Im Mai 2008 führte Christies in Hong Kong die Auktion Asian Contemporary Art (Day Sale) durch, in der auch die Arbeit Mr. Owl & Duck Boat von Shin Young Mi zur Versteigerung kam. Das dabei erzielte Ergebnis von HKD 100.000,00 (€ 8.232,65) entsprach exakt dem oberen Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von HKD 70.000,00 – 100.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Shin Young Mi auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit In the Mirror im November 2007 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 427.500,00 (€ 37.371,32).
