Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work The Legend of the Sand Dollar by Sherman Tipton Coleman was auctioned at Bonhams in Los Angeles in February 2019, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 800.00 – 1,200.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 250.00 (€ 219.70). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Sherman Tipton Coleman achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Indian and Turkey in February 2019 with an auction result of USD 10,625.00 (€ 9,337.38).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit The Legend of the Sand Dollar von Sherman Tipton Coleman im Februar 2019 bei Bonhams in Los Angeles versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 800,00 – 1.200,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für USD 250,00 (€ 219,70) den Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Sherman Tipton Coleman erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Indian and Turkey im Februar 2019 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 10.625,00 (€ 9.337,38).
