The work Five-character Calligraphic Couplet in Running Script by Shen Zicheng was auctioned at Christies in Hong Kong in May 2018. The auction ended at the price of HKD 15,000.00 (€ 1,638.82), which exactly corresponded to the upper end of the estimated price range of HKD 12,000.00 – 15,000.00. Even if this result could not surprise positively, Five-character Calligraphic Couplet in Running Script is the most expensive artwork by Shen Zicheng that we have observed at auctions so far.
