Despite a disappointment, a good price for Sheila Lethbridge McDonald
When the work Around Ayers Rock by Sheila Lethbridge McDonald was auctioned at Christies in Melbourne in April 2005, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of AUD 1,000.00 – 1,500.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for AUD 597.50 (€ 362.32). Despite this disappointing result, Around Ayers Rock is the most expensive artwork by Sheila Lethbridge McDonald that we have observed at auction so far.

Als die Arbeit Around Ayers Rock von Sheila Lethbridge McDonald im April 2005 bei Christies in Melbourne versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus.
