Auction result well in line with expectations
In October 2004 Christies in London held the auction INDIAN AND ISLAMIC WORKS OF ART, which included the work Two Watercolours by Muhammad Amir. The price achieved of GBP 597.50 (€ 859.97) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 500.00 – 700.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Muhammad Amir achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work A bay horse standing with a groom in September 2003 with an auction result of GBP 16,730.00 (€ 16,851.67).
