Artwork auctioned at five times the upper estimate price
When the work Night Village by Shay Rieger was auctioned at Sothebys in New York in April 2020, the result exceeded expectations many times over. The upper estimate was set at a - in retrospect quite modest - USD 700.00 but the actual price achieved was more than five times as high at USD 3,500.00 (€ 3,194.89). However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Shay Rieger - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Abstract, which sold at auction in April 2020 for USD 12,500.00 (€ 11,410.31).
