This artwork by Shay Docking achieved an unexpectedly high price at Bonhams in Skinner Marlborough, Massachusetts in September this year. In the The Fred and Elinor Wrobel Collection Online auction, the work Trees at Warracknabeal, Victoria, 1955 sold for AUD 3,382.50 (€ 2,061.65) - well above the upper estimate of AUD 1,500.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Shay Docking; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Omeo Gippsland Victoria, 1952 sold at auction in August this year with the realized price of AUD 3,567.00 (€ 2,128.55).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Shay Docking erzielte im September diesen Jahres bei Bonhams in Skinner Marlborough, Massachusetts einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion The Fred and Elinor Wrobel Collection Online wurde die Arbeit Trees at Warracknabeal, Victoria, 1955 für AUD 3.382,50 (€ 2.061,65) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von AUD 1.500,00. Trotz des guten Ergebnisses ist dies nicht der höchste Zuschlag für ein Kunstwerk von Shay Docking; den erzielte unter den von uns beobachteten Auktionen die Arbeit Omeo Gippsland Victoria, 1952 im August diesen Jahres mit dem Hammerpreis von AUD 3.567,00 (€ 2.128,55).
