The auction ended at the price of USD 5,000.00 (€ 4,232.63), which exactly corresponded to the upper end of the estimated price range of USD 3,000.00 – 5,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Shao Zhang - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Calligraphy Couplet In Kaishu, which sold at auction in April 2017 for HKD 125,000.00 (€ 14,754.47).

Die Arbeit Calligraphy Couplet In Regular Script von Shao Zhang wurde im September 2017 in der Auktion Fine Classical Chinese Paintings & Calligraphy bei Sothebys in New York versteigert. Das dabei erzielte Ergebnis von USD 5.000,00 (€ 4.232,63) entsprach exakt dem oberen Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 3.000,00 – 5.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Shao Zhang mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Calligraphy Couplet In Kaishu beobachtet, die im April 2017 für HKD 125.000,00 (€ 14.754,47) versteigert wurde.
