A top price for Shankar Balwant Palsikar - as previously expected
In March 2018 Sothebys in New York held the auction Modern & Contemporary South Asian Art, which included the work Renunciation by Shankar Balwant Palsikar. The price achieved of USD 10,000.00 (€ 8,116.88) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 8,000.00 – 12,000.00. Even if this result could not surprise positively, Renunciation is the most expensive artwork by Shankar Balwant Palsikar that we have observed at auctions so far.

Im März 2018 führte Sothebys in New York die Auktion Modern & Contemporary South Asian Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Renunciation von Shankar Balwant Palsikar zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 10.000,00 (€ 8.116,88) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 8.000,00 – 12.000,00 angegeben worden. Auch wenn das Ergebnis damit nicht positiv überraschen konnte, ist Renunciation das teuerste Kunstwerk von Shankar Balwant Palsikar, das wir bisher bei Auktionen beobachtet haben.
