Auction result well in line with expectations
In May this year Christies in Dubai held the auction Modern & Contemporary Middle Eastern Art, which included the work Les Cafés engloutis n°2 by Shafic Abboud. The price achieved of USD 52,920.00 (€ 49,671.48) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 40,000.00 – 60,000.00. Admittedly, works by Shafic Abboud have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Villa des Iris in November this year with an auction result of GBP 381,400.00 (€ 441,959.66).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Mai diesen Jahres führte Christies in Dubai die Auktion Modern & Contemporary Middle Eastern Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Les Cafés engloutis n°2 von Shafic Abboud zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 52.920,00 (€ 49.671,48) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 40.000,00 – 60.000,00 angegeben worden. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Shafic Abboud auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Villa des Iris im November diesen Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 381.400,00 (€ 441.959,66).
