Auction result well in line with expectations
In November last year Bonhams in London held the auction Modern and Contemporary Middle Eastern Art including Baghdadiyat Part IIIThe Finale, which included the work Peace & War Makers 50 x 35cm each by Seif Wanly. The price achieved of GBP 3,825.00 (€ 4,432.30) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 3,000.00 – 5,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Seif Wanly achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work without title in March last year with an auction result of GBP 94,500.00 (€ 112,040.39).
