This artwork by Seif Wanly achieved an unexpectedly high price at Bonhams in London in May this year. In the Modern and Contemporary Middle Eastern Art auction, the work Fishermen sold for GBP 23,040.00 (€ 26,807.19) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 12,000.00. Admittedly, works by Seif Wanly have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work without title in March last year with an auction result of GBP 94,500.00 (€ 112,040.39).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 92 % übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Seif Wanly erzielte im Mai diesen Jahres bei Bonhams in London einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Modern and Contemporary Middle Eastern Art wurde die Arbeit Fishermen für GBP 23.040,00 (€ 26.807,19) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 12.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Seif Wanly auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit ohne Titel im März letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 94.500,00 (€ 112.040,39).
