Auction result well in line with expectations
The work The Virgin Presenting Barnabite Saints To The Holy Trinity by Sebastiano Conca was sold in the Important Old Master Paintings and European Works of Art auction at Sothebys in New York in January 2007. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 25,000.00 – 35,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 26,400.00 (€ 20,310.82) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Sebastiano Conca achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Portrait of George Parker, 2nd Earl of Macclesfield, PRS, three-quarter-length, standing in front of the Colosseum, right hand resting on a map of Italy, a statue of the Apollo Belvedere on a giltwood and marble table in December last year with an auction result of GBP 378,000.00 (€ 426,725.18).

Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 25.000,00 – 35.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 26.400,00 (€ 20.310,82) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen.
