Artwork auctioned at three times the upper estimate price
The work Untitled Painting with Trompe l’Oeil (Blurred Image) by Sayre Gomez was worth GBP 25,200.00 (€ 28,448.35) to a buyer in December last year. This price was achieved in the auction New Now at Phillips in London and exceeded the previously set upper estimate of GBP 7,000.00 many times over. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Sayre Gomez - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Valley Boy, which sold at auction in September this year for USD 88,900.00 (€ 83,994.71).

Die Arbeit Untitled Painting with Trompe l’Oeil (Blurred Image) von Sayre Gomez war einem Käufer im Dezember letzten Jahres GBP 25.200,00 (€ 28.448,35) wert. Dieser Preise wurde in der Auktion New Now bei Phillips in London erzielt und übertraf den zuvor angesetzten oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 7.000,00 um ein Vielfaches. Für andere Arbeiten von Sayre Gomez mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Valley Boy beobachtet, die im September diesen Jahres für USD 88.900,00 (€ 83.994,71) versteigert wurde.
